Emergency Apparatus
Most emergency personnel will tell you they're often only as good as their equipment. The Sherborn Fire Department is proud to operate some of the finest emergency equipment a department could offer. Each piece fulfills specific duties on fire scenes, medical calls and rescue operations and carry various specialized tools to perform these roles. The following pages detail our current vehicles and equipment, and provide information on the capabilities of each.
 
All Members of the department are assigned to at least one specific piece of Apparatus. Members are required to respond to their designated apparatus Monday through Friday between 6pm and 6am, Saturday and Sunday. Monday through Friday 6am to 6pm, any available member may respond to any piece of apparatus they are qualified on if it is toned out. Any department member who is a Massachusetts State Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), is assigned either a weekend day shift or a night shift on a rotating basis. Monday through Friday, 6am to 6pm, there are EMS Call slots which members sign up for day time coverage.

  • Provides operational and supply support
  • Provides secondary motor vehicle acdident and rescue support, plus additional EMS assistance.

  • Provides primary brush fire support along with Engine 5 and can be used for off-road conditions.
